Job Summary:
The Health and Wellness Nurse will provide direct patient care and promote employee health and safety within the workplace. This includes administering medications, conducting health assessments, providing first aid, and collaborating with management to improve the overall health and safety programs tailored to the industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct Patient Care:
Provide direct patient care including administering medication, assisting with procedures, and monitoring vital signs for employees within the organization. - Health Assessments & Early Intervention:
Conduct onsite health assessments to identify potential health risks among employees and ensure early intervention and health promotion. - First Aid & Emergency Care:
Administer first aid and emergency care during workplace incidents, maintaining accurate medical documentation for compliance and reporting purposes. - Health and Safety Programs:
Collaborate with management to develop and implement health and safety programs designed to enhance workplace safety and prevent health risks. - Employee Health Record Management:
Monitor and manage employee health records, ensuring confidentiality while following up on occupational health screenings and other necessary health interventions. - Health Education & Training:
Provide health education and training sessions to staff on topics such as ergonomics, stress management, disease prevention, and overall wellness. - External Healthcare Coordination:
Coordinate with external healthcare providers and specialists for referrals, ensuring employees receive appropriate care for complex or specialized health issues. - Workplace Inspections:
Conduct regular workplace inspections to identify potential hazards, and recommend corrective actions to management to minimize workplace risks. - Health Policy Development & Enforcement:
Assist in developing and enforcing health policies that comply with local regulations and industry best practices for occupational health management. - Employee Liaison:
Serve as a liaison between employees and management regarding health-related concerns, fostering a culture of open communication and support. - Health and Wellness Initiatives:
Participate in health and wellness programs, including vaccination drives and fitness programs, to promote a healthier workforce. - Patient Education:
Assess patient needs, create patient education materials, and provide ongoing education on various health topics. - Documentation & Compliance:
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory standards. - Ongoing Professional Development:
Participate in professional development and stay updated with advancements in nursing practice and occupational health. - Quality Improvement:
Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and assist in implementing evidence-based practices to enhance the overall health of employees.
Qualifications:
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (or equivalent). - Licensing:
Valid nursing license as per the relevant regulations in the location. - Experience:
Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in a nursing role, preferably in an industrial or occupational health setting. - Skills:
Strong clinical assessment skills, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills, ability to handle emergencies, and proficiency in managing health records. Must be able to educate and train employees on health-related topics. - Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification, as required.
